Fête de la lavande 04210 VALENSOLE fr

The lavender hill mob.

Every July, the streets of Valensole are filled with the heady scent of lavender.

The Lavender Festival, which attracts locals and visitors alike, is your chance to find out more about the many and varied uses of the small blue flower. The French village is lined with craft stalls selling lavender soaps, lavender essence, lavender honey and Provencal landscape pictures, as well as delicious local specialities to eat and drink.

A shuttle bus is available to take you to the traditional lavender distillery nearby, the last one of its kind still in operation, where you can watch lavender essence being extracted. There are even helicopter rides for anyone who wants to see the Valensole plateau from the air.
