Mondial La Marseillaise à pétanque
A tournament which is full of character.
Almost 5 000 teams from around the world - almost 13 000 players - are ready to face each other in this competition which works on a system of direct elimination. The Mondial la Marseillaise à Pétanque is the key summer event within the world of pétanque! First organised by Paul Ricard in 1962, this international tournament takes place over several days, and qualifies as a sports festival as the tournament combines competition with an atmosphere of fun and good humour.
Although the most coveted title in this traditional French sport is that of the winner of the Mondial, there are several other prizes awarded such as the ladies' prize or the Marseillaise youth prize.
