Vieilles Charrues Festival
5 stages, 4 days, 240,000 festival goers!
This festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011 and yet it has not aged a bit! The Vieilles Charrues ("Old Ploughs") festival has continued to grow each year without losing the enthusiasm and the touch of madness that have always characterised this music festival.
What was a party among friends quickly became one of the biggest music festivals in France. Driven by the desire to boost the region's cultural life, the festival has grown into an event on an international scale.
In previous years the Vieilles Charrues has welcomed many major stars of the international music scene onto its stages, such as Cesaria Evora, Joe Cocker, the Scorpions, Youssou N'Dour, Texas and Deep Purple, as well as the best of the French scene. The festival offers an eclectic programme of rock, pop, jazz and unusual music, all in a magical atmosphere. Outdoor concerts will take place on five different stages: four days of music in the summer heat of July!
Bring your tent, choose a spot at the campsite, perhaps combine it with a tour of the region... and then get ready to experience some mind-blowing music!
