The Ultra-trail "Le Grand Raid" at La Réunion 97410 Saint-Pierre re

Dare to challenge yourself? The ultra-trail Le Grand Raid is also known as "la diagonale des fous" and is one of the toughest runs in the world.

Ever since 1993, the nature of La Reunion has been the scene of one of the world's toughest runs - and this year is no exception. The run is part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour and is also known as "La Diagonale des Fous" due to the difficulty of the race.

The special thing about this challenge is that you cross La Réunion and the heart of the island's extraordinary nature diagonally. Along the way, you will run through the national park, which became a UNESCO's world heritage site in 2010.

This year it is possible to participate in four different races, either individually or as a team:

  • Le Grand Raid, also known as La Diagonale des Fous (162 km / 9 643 meters of difference in altitude)
  • Le Trail de Bourbon (93 km / 4920 meters of difference in altitude)
  • La Mascareignes (61 km / 3 036 meters of difference in altitude)
  • Zembrocal Trail (57.1 to 64.6 km / 3074 to 3916 meters of difference in altitude)
