13th edition of the "3 Vallées Tout Terrain" (3 Valley All Terrain)
Saturday and Sunday, the 7th and 8th of July, are organized by the “3 Vallées Tout Terrain”. Here you will find two legendary mountain bike races: the Freebike and the Rando Tour.
This event marks the opening of the mountain bike trails and lifts in the 3 Valleys, an area with over 500km of trails dedicated to mountain biking.
An original experience of the region
Organized by the 3 Valley resorts (Courchevel – La Tania – Méribel – Brides-les-Bains – Les Menuires – Saint Martin de Belleville and Val Thorens) for more than ten years, the “3 Vallées Tout Terrain” is THE place to be for “two-wheeled” enthusiasts.
Open to the public, this event will introduce you to the domain of the 3 Valleys (the largest skiing area in the world) in a new light.
Saturday: thrill seekers, here’s a challenge - Freebike!
Freebike consists of going down the trails as quickly as possible. This challenge is spread across an area of 20km and an elevation of 2000m.
Whether you are a beginner or highly experienced, satisfaction is guaranteed thank to the variety of trails that take you from the top of the Saulire to Brides-les-Bains, across forests, boroughs, villages…
The lifts are open according to the programme’s routes, and the trails are marked.
There is no ranking or winner’s podium, but you can equip yourself with a microchip to track the time of your trip.
New for 2012 - The integration of a trail that is accessible to people with disabilities
This year, the 3 Valley All Terrain invites those with disabilities to come try the new “Fauteuil Tout Terrain” (Chair All Terrain), a Freebike journey with adapted equipment. The suggested route is independent, but similar to the others. This initiative, sponsored by the Comité Départemental Handisport de Savoie, can bring joy and excitement to each participant.
Sunday: discover the 3 Valley region with the Rando Tour
By making a loop around the domain, the mountain bikers will discover the 3 Valleys. The choice of routes is given to participants who will pass through villages and forests, and admire breathtaking views. This journey is listed as a “Randos d’Or” (Golden Journey) by the Fédération Française de Cyclisme (label FFC).
The objective of this day is to offer participants an occasion to share with friends and family, at the speed of their choice and on trails of various distances.
During these two days, the 3 Valleys offer “espaces de ravitaillements” (refueling areas) located in different stations with a menu of local, traditional foods of Savoyards such as: cheeses, barbeques and various meats. Repair assistants are also available in each valley.
