The Berlioz Festival is your opportunity to discover the romantic genius of Berlioz’s hometown of Côte-Saint-André and his native region of Isère in the enchanting surroundings where he took his first steps as a musician.
The success of this festival lies in the magical authenticity of its places, the enthusiasm of its participants – the
audience, volunteers, and musicians – and an ambitious programme offering magnificent symphonic concerts and astonishing events which are accessible to everyone, even those who would never have imagined themselves sampling the delights of classical music.
Every year, the festival radiates from Côte-Saint-André outward to the Bièvre and throughout the region, throwing a surprise concert here and there beyond the city walls, just as it did this summer at Saint-Antoine Abbey and La Tour-du-Pin.
In terms of figures, the Berlioz festival includes 50 events (concerts, film screenings, readings, conferences, etc.), 200 committed volunteers, almost 1,000 featured artists, and an expected audience of over 20,000 people.
