Parlez-vous français ?

Since it was founded by Dominique Besnehard, Marie-France Brière and Patrick Maridikian in 2008, the Angouleme French-Language Film Festival has grown into a unique celebration of cinema from French-speaking countries. Although there have been similar events in Quebec and Belgium, the festival was the first of its kind in France.

Following a tough selection process, French-language films from France, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland and Africa compete to win one of the famous Valois Awards, with Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor up for grabs.

In just a few days, the festival offers an overview of French-language cinema, showcases new talent and provides a platform for interaction with industry greats. A key fixture on Angouleme’s cultural calendar, the event attracts large audiences every year.
